I am a graduate Iowa State University, majoring in Computer Engineering. From a young age, I was always interested in figuring out how things work. Once I figured out the core components, I would try to use those components to build something new. I was introduced to programming in my early teens and it immediately became my passion. This fit in perfectly with my curiosity as I was able to learn the fundamental building blocks and was soon writing my own programs to solve any problems I could think of. While programming is still a passion of mine, I became interested in the lower level systems that enable high level programs to function.
I am a Software Engineer focusing on mobile device development, specifically Android and iOS App Development. While I do enjoy working on both platforms, I’ve become more interested in building shared infrastructure that works cross-platform.
Hobbies
I like to spend my free time working on personal projects and volunteering at STEM outreach events. Many of my personal projects stem from something I believe can be done faster using software. For more information, check out my projects page.
I was the co-chair of the Iowa FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) Planning Team. FLL is a youth competition (ages 9-14) where teams design and build an autonomous robot to play a themed game each year. Teams also must research a topic related to the theme and present their findings to their community and a panel of judges. As a co-chair of this planning team, I help coordinate regional events across the state as well as the state championships each year.
